Haysi, VA – Nell Edwards, age 90 of Bartlick Road, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at her home. Born in Dickenson County she was a daughter of the late Cain and Sissie Owens Willis. She was a homemaker and a member of Breaks Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Edwards, a grandchild, Mandy Edwards and a sister, Gay Deel.
Survivors include two daughters; Teresa (Travis) Deel and Joyce Edwards both of Haysi, VA; three sons, Wayne (Belinda) Willis of Bee, VA, Kenny (Cassie) Edwards of Haysi, VA and Roger (Mary) Edwards of Willow Park, TX; grandchildren, Richie (Teresa) Edwards and Dalton Deel both of Haysi, VA, Josh (Jamie) Willis of Arlington, TX, Christy Hill, Gloria Montemayor, Michael Montemayor and Christy Dykes all of Texas; a great granddaughter, Kristien Edwards of Haysi, VA; a brother, Franklin Willis of Bristol, TN; two sisters, Helen Wagner of Kingsport, TN and Judy Bernhoft of Mississippi and her caregiver, Kathy Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Haysi Funeral Home with Junior Deel officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell-Senter Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the funeral home where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
