Haysi, VA- Shirley Colley Ashworth, age 71 of Lazarus Branch, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her home with her daughters at her side. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Howard and Lillie Rice Colley. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lizzie Ferguson, three sisters, Betty Guy, Mildred Harkens and Mary Colley Walden and two brothers, Howard Colley Jr. and Ernest Colley.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura (Kyle) Clouse of Arizona, Kimberly (Jared) Mullins of West Virginia and April (Floyd) Osborne of Haysi, two step-daughters, Natalie Lambert and Angelique Liskey, 13 grandchildren, Heather, Miranda, Christian, Megan, Lillian, Jessica, Sara, Michael, Willis, Benjamin, Olivia, Hannah and Rosie, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild on the way and three sisters, Gertrude O’Quinn, Carolyn Boyd and Anita Colley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in Colley Family Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
