Teddy O’quinn
Birchleaf, VA – Teddy O’quinn, age 60 of Rakes Ridge, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Corbett and Peggy Conaway O’quinn. He was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Rody, and Vada O’quinn and two sisters, Dora Church and Darlene Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva O’quinn, special children, Greg and Danny O’quinn, two brothers, Jones O’quinn of Birchleaf and Jackie O’quinn of Haysi, five sisters, Hazel Hackney of Birchleaf, Mazie Woods of Haysi, Helen Rose of Haysi, Betsy Rasnick of Pikeville, KY, and Kathy Sykes of Clintwood, VA, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Andy Deel, Mark Justice, and Jimmy Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Garland Deel Cemetery, Birchleaf. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24 at the funeral home where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
