JOHN DOYLE SUTHERLAND
Birchleaf, VA- John Doyle Sutherland, age 67 of Tiny Hollow, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his home. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of Martha Louise Barton Sutherland and the late John Harvey Sutherland. He was last employed for the Dickenson County School System as a bus mechanic and was a member of Peuther Chapel Church.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Iris Sutherland, step-mother, Virginia Sutherland of Johnson City, TN, a brother, Jackie Lynn (Melody) Sutherland of Midland, MI, a nephew, Jack (Noel) Sutherland of Waterford, MI, three sisters, Faye (Ben) Perkins of Elizabethton, TN, Lisa Depriest of Johnson City, TN and Melinda Stidham of Gray, TN, 5 step children, 8 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in Sutherland Memorial Cemetery, Tiny,VA. Family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the funeral home with a song service at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com In lieu of flowers donations may be made to funeral home for funeral expenses.
