Haysi, VA- Ricky Noel Arrington, age 61 of the Laurel Branch section, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Born June 12, 1953, Rick was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County. He worked for Paramont Coal Company until his retirement in 2008. Until his illness prevented him from doing so, he regularly attended Coleman’s Methodist Church in Vansant. Everyone who knew Rick knows that he was always ready with a joke or a song and loved to make people laugh. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Arrington, brother, Ronald Arrington, and a niece, Zenaida Arrington.
Survivors include his mother, Alice (Owens) Arrington, his loving wife, Audrey (Raines) Arrington, sons, Jimmy Carl “Jamie” (Amanda) Arrington, Brandon (Hollie) Arrington both of Haysi, and Randy (Krystal) Compton of Grundy, VA, a daughter, Kim (Robbie) Anderson of Bristol, a brother, Tony Arrington of Castlewood, a sister, Diana (Larry) Rose of Haysi, grandchildren, Colbey Kincer, Corey Compton, Austin Compton, Tyler Kelley, Jenna Nowlin, and a very special one, Ricky Paul Arrington, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Darrell Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Carl Arrington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Rose, Tanner Boyd, Corey Compton, Austin Compton, Zach Raines, Dylan Raines, Nick Raines, and Colbey Kincer.
