Maynard C. “M.C.” Owens

Davenport, VA – M.C. Owens, age 72 of Hurricane Road, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Roy and Iona Breeding Owens. He was last employed as a lineman for Pike Electric and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his biological parents, Leslie and Irene Ellis Owens, a sister, Nadene Owens, and a half-brother, Carter Lee Owens.
Survivors include his companion, Sharon Harrison, a son, Buford (Diana) Owens of KY, a daughter, Crystal (Chris) White of Bluefield, VA, a sister-in-law, Harriet Owens, nephew, Terry (Patti) Owens, niece, Jane (Jarvis) Rasnick, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Edward Tiller officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Family Cemetery, Davenport. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 12:00 noon on Monday prior to the funeral service. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
