Breaks, VA- Bonnie Mullins Deel, age 90, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the home of her caregiver, Sandra Owens. Born in Dickenson County, October 22, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Dock and Cora Mullins. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Z. Deel, sisters, Carrie Owens and Dollie Powers and a brother, Clovis Mullins.
Survivors include sons, Douglas (Barbara) Deel of Breaks and Christopher Deel of Atlanta, GA, step daughters, Micky (Johnnie) Branham of Haysi and Vicki (Andy) Silcox of Clintwood, a sister, Connie Kell of Lebanon, 4 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, 2 step great great- grandchildren, a special sister-in-law, Melba Deel of Breaks, a special brother-in-law, Swanson Deel of Clintwood and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Eddie and Jerry Newsome, Danny Yates and David O’quinn officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18 at Garland and Gracie Memorial Cemetery, Breaks, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
