Obituary for Goldie Mae Wood (Puckett)

Goldie Mae  Wood (Puckett)

Clinchco, VA- Goldie Mae Wood, age 78 of Road Branch, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Indian Path Hospital in Kingsport, TN. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late George and Roxie Edwards Puckett. She was last employed as a substitute cook at Clinchco Elementary, was a homemaker and of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Wood, a brother, Raymond Puckett, a sister, Helen Thurston and a niece, Carol Mullins.
Survivors include four step-children, Mary DeAnn Wood of Clinchco, David (Dede) Wood, Troy Wood Jr. and Cathy (David) Vines all of Texas, 8 step-grandchildren, 3 great step-grandchildren, sisters, Ruby (Dave) Bryson and Dolly Hamillton both of Tarpon and Shirley (Norman) Stanley of Michigan, a brother, Tony (Carolyn) Puckett of Honaker, a brother-in-law, Wayne Thurston of WV, a sister-in-law, Carol Puckett of Clinchco and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Roger Fuller officiating. Burial will follow Rose-Wood Cemetery, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
