Obituary for Hancel Yates

Hancel  Yates
Haysi, VA- Hancel Yates, age 73 of Graham Road, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late William Dolphus and Rachel E. Edwards Yates. He was last employed as a truck driver for the State Department and was a member of Coleman’s United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Joe Yates, a grandson, Dominic Yates and an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife, Fay, daughters, Marcella Jean Yates of Haysi, Tina Fay (Brady) Fuller of Vansant, Amanda Elizabeth (Tommy) Stiltner of Haysi, sons, Dennis Ray Yates, Timmy (Robin) Yates, Scotty Yates and Hancel (Charlene) Yates Jr. all of Haysi, 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a brother, Lester (Susie) Yates of Haysi and a sister, Trula Edwards of Abingdon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Coleman’s United Methodist Church with Darrell Thacker and Russell Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow in Yates Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and friends.
