Big Stone Gap, VA- Norman Donald Campbell, age 87 of Canonchet Avenue, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap, VA. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Ralph and Cretia Turner Campbell. He was last employed by General Motors and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vernie Barton Campbell, a daughter, Vickie King, a son, Rickie Norman Campbell, two brothers, Ronald and Haskell Campbell and two sisters, Veronica Edwards and Margaret Turner.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Beth Campbell, a granddaughter, Emily Campbell both of Big Stone Gap, two sisters, Ruby Widdon of Thonotosassa, FL and Verba Fleming of Clintwood, VA and two brothers-in-law, Gary Turner of Big Stone Gap and Elmer Edwards of Lexington, NC. A special caretaker, Joyce Lancaster and staff of Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder A.L. Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan T. Turner Cemetery, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to funeral service.
