Bee, VA- Betty O’quinn Owens, age 75, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at her home on Steve’s Branch. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Laura O’quinn. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Trinkle Owens, two brothers, Raymond and Calvin O’quinn and a special nephew, Carlos O’quinn.
Survivors include a son Dallas (Louise) Owens, a daughter, Georgia Fields (Jerry Davis) both of Bee, four grandsons, Bobby (Charlotte) Owens, Bradley Owens, Nathan (Amanda) Gibson and Noah (Shenna) Fields, 4 great-grandchildren, Allison and Joshua Owens and Hunter and Daniel Gibson, three brothers, Bill (Merle) O’quinn and Danny (Sherrell) O’quinn both of Bee and Trinkle O’quinn of Danville, five sisters, Kay (Ted) O’quinn, Ella Owens and Alta O’quinn all of Bee, Kathy (Goebel) Lyall of Birchleaf and Faye Flynn of KY, a host of nieces and nephews and special friend, Cindy Engle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Andy Deel and Jimmy Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in O’quinn Family Cemetery, Bee, VA. Pallbearers will be Tony, Darrell, Gary and Jackie Owens, Derreck Jackson, Luther Church and Jerry Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Haysi Rescue Squad, Robert and Caudill Stanley, Connie Gilbert and Dustin Bartley.The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with a song service at 7:00 p.m. with Fred O’quinn.
