Evelyn Wallace
Haysi, VA – Evelyn Wallace, age 77 of Tivis Ridge, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at Pikeville Medical Center. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Boliver Sykes and Eura Deel Sykes Counts. Mrs. Wallace was first employed with Ritter Lumber, Cumberland Bank and Trust, was owner/operator of Wallace Farm Supply in Haysi and then owner/operator of Red Bud Pawn Shop in Honaker, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Wallace, two brothers, Fred and Lot Joseph Counts, and three sisters, Edna Lyalls, Mary Mullins and Ada Fuller.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Wallace of Haysi, a grandson, Chris (Heather) Wallace of Spring Hill, TN, two grandchildren, Aiden and Zoe Wallace, two sisters, Bonnie Mullins of Haysi and Sally Mullins of Galion, OH.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with James Sweeney and Lonnie Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the FL. Colley Cemetery, Tivis Ridge. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will be Monday, February 1, at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2 at the funeral home where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
