Clinchco, VA – Kenneth “Kenny” Gregory Edwards, age 53 of Russ Edwards Road passed away Friday, December 30, 2016. Born in Richlands, Virginia he was a son of LC Edwards and the late Betty Alpharee Edwards. Kenny was a past member of the Haysi Rescue Squad, a coal miner and an auto mechanic. He was of the primitive Baptist faith. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Rasnake.
In addition to his father LC (Jeanette), survivors include his wife Angela; a son, Shawn (Adrienne) Edwards of Clintwood, VA; a grandson, Easton Chase Edwards; three sisters, Christine Willis of Bristol, VA, Carol Rasnake and Cindy (Patrick) Mullins both of Clinchco, VA; three brothers, Donnie (Jean) Edwards and Terry Edwards both of Clinchco, VA and Marty (Diana) Edwards of Birchleaf, VA and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert, Jim Duty and Noah Kim Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Nathan Edwards Cemetery, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be Jason Compton, Keith Viers, Benny Church, Nathan Branham, Scott Moore and Brandon Deel. Nephews will serve as Honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home where an evening service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.haysifuneral.com.
