Haysi, VA- Gregory Clay Younce, age 53 of Tivis Ridge, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Burnard and Dorothy Younce. He was last employed in construction as a dozer operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Burnard Stacy Younce and a sister, Lydia Edwards.
Survivors include two children, Jessica (Chris) Smith of Big Stone Gap, VA and Katie (Kevin) Slemp of Kingsport, TN, 7 grandchildren and one on the way and a sister, Marsha (Danny) Shell of Haysi.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Younce Family Cemetery, Haysi, VA with Elder David O’quinn officiating. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
