Obituary for James Tas Mullins

Haysi, VA- James Tas Mullins, age 84, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his home. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Charles and Orpha Dutton Mullins. He was last employed as a coal miner and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel, two daughters, Jeanie and Orpha Hess, a son, Bill Meade, a sister, Emma Jean Woods and a brother, Noah Mullins.
Survivors include six daughters, Patricia Bacon of Kingsport, Stella Charles of Blountville, Deloras Moore and Betty Hay both of Clintwood,Teresa Gilbert of Haysi and Sharon Stanley of Clinchco, seven sons, Clyde Meade of WV, Roy Charles, Nevada Mullins, Charles William Mullins and Stevie Mullins all of Haysi, Mark Anthony Mullins of Richlands and Ricky Mullins of Grundy, special daughter-in-laws, Norma Meade and Christy Mullins, a brother, Hansel Mullins of Haysi and sisters, Lexie Fleming and Edith Mullins both of Clinchco and Ester Wooten of Haysi, 24 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at J.S. Willis Chapel with Elder Rick Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Mullins-Branham Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
