Grundy, VA- Jane A. Blankenship, age 79 of Sunset Hollow, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Cansady Boyd. She was a homemaker and member of Paw Paw Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Crockett Blankenship, sons, David Crockett Blankenship Jr., and Eddie M. Blankenship, a grandson, Eric S. Blankenship and a brother, Felix Bobby Boyd.
Survivors include four sons, Clay (Lillian) Blankenship, Kermit (Pat) Blankenship, Ronald (Samantha) Blankenship all of Grundy and Randy (Renee) Blankenship of Newport, TN, two daughters, Mary (William) Owens of Haysi and Tina (Mack) Fields of Grundy, a daughter-in-law, Sue Blankenship of Rowe, 11 grandchildren, Erin, Joshua, Justin, Tracy, Andy, Candace, Madison, Aiden, Sophia, Gabby and Mackenzie, 4 great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Dakota, William and Kylee and a soon to be great-grandson, Liam Bentley, several half-brothers and sisters and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Aven Viers, Jackie Yates and Terry O’quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery, Grundy, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
