Obituary for Danny Ray Colley

Danny Ray Colley
Council, VA – Danny Ray Colley, age 64, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late James and Gladys Owens Colley. He was a retired coal miner, member of the UMWA, and was a member of Tiller Town Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cleveland and Clayton Colley and two sisters-in-law, Anita Richardson and Mildred Colley.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Glenda Colley, a son, Daniel (Melanie) Colley of Lebanon, VA, two daughters, Tina (Rick) Stevens of Cleveland, VA and Salena Colley (Larry Edwards) of Haysi, VA, five brothers, Edward (Linda) Colley of Dayton, OH, Don Colley, Keith (Bonita) Colley, Ralph (Juanita) Colley, and Jeff (Trish) Colley all of Vansant, VA, eight grandsons, Levi, Brandon, Tanner, Nick, Nathaniel, Jamie, Justin, and Jesse, a granddaughter, Caterinna, two great-grandsons, Damien and Eli, and a great-granddaughter, Paisley, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Kyle Ratliff and Linton Deel officiating. Burial will follow in the Colley Cemetery, Vansant. Grandsons, great-grandsons, and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3 at the funeral home where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
