Bobby L. O’Quinn
Bee, VA – Bobby L. O’Quinn, age 81 of Morning Glory Road, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Holly W. and Jenny Bell Gilbert O’Quinn. He was a retired truck driver and of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Allen O’Quinn and a step-daughter, Brenda Sykes Bingham.
Survivors include his wife, Gay O’quinn, a step-son, Carl Wayne (Jackie) Sykes of Bee, a step-daughter, Carol (Michael) Price of Davenport, VA, grandchildren; Kennith Sykes, Nicholas Sykes, Justin Price, and Kitsa Price, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister, Fern Keen of Ohio, a brother, Billy Roger (Ruby) O’Quinn of Honaker, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert, Jim Duty, Jim O’quinn, and Barrett McGlothlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Silas Deel Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Pallbearers will be Kennith Sykes, Nicholas Sykes, Justin Price, Ransome Breeding, Jess Breeding, and Ryan Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Larry Compton, and Tony Deel. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4 at the funeral home where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
