Obituary for Billy K. Cook

Billy K.  Cook
Frederick, MD- Elder Billy K. Cook, age 68 went to be with the Lord Monday, November 20, 2017. Born May 18, 1949 in West Jefferson, NC, he was a son of the late Mayford and Ollie Mae Cook. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and received a Bronze Star. He was a man of great faith uniting with the church at the age of 10 and began preaching at the age of 16, three years later he was ordained into the ministry. He pastored Rush Creek and Tumbling Creek Primitive Baptist Churches. He was a very special and loving husband, dad and papa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his loving companion of 46 years, Bonita Cook of Point of Rocks, MD, a son, Jonathan Cook and wife Kimberly of Point of Rocks, MD, a daughter, Kimberly Adams and husband Jason of Ruckersville, VA, 8 grandchildren, Leah, Micah, Hannah and Sarah Grace Cook and Kaitlyn, Jonah, Judah and Jeremiah Adams also surviving Dotsie Wood of Roanoke, Tommie Randolph and husband Ronnie of Sanford, NC and Hazel Anderson and husband Joe of Hanover, PA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Rush Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Glade Spring, VA with Elders Eddie Lyle, Curt Heath and J.C. Hager officiating. Burial will follow at Rush Creek Cemetery with Highlands Veterans Honor Guard conducting Military Rites. Pallbearers will be Daniel Heath, David Davis, Rodney Wright, Ronnie and Mark Randolph, Timmy Smith and Mark Colley. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of the Primitive Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Garrett Funeral Home, Damascus, VA with an evening service to follow from 7:00-8:00.
