RICHIE CHILDRESS
Haysi, VA- Richie Childress, age 65 of Drainpipe Road, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018. Born September 18, 1952 in Dickenson County, he was a son of Floyd Childress and the late Edith Arrington Childress. He was last employed as a Drill Operator for Virginia Drilling and was a member of Little David Old Regular Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Jessie, sons, Chuck (Heather) Childress of Clintwood and Jesse (Jenny) Childress of Abingdon, grandchildren, Kyleigh, Eli, Jacob, Austin, Bryson, Tanner and Trevor, a sister, JoAnn Davis of Bluefield, brothers, Larry (Theda) Childress of Haysi, Lynn Childress of Hansonville and Kenneth (Rhonda) Childress of Haysi.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Jim Blankenship, Buster Mullins, Jimmy Yates, Stephen Lyall, Danny Yates, David O’quinn and Eddie Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Arrington Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
