DORIS LORRAINE WILLIS
Haysi, VA- Doris Lorraine Willis, age 82 of Lazarus Branch, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the home of her son. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Vernie Silcox Austin. She was a homemaker who loved to sew and make quilts. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny E. Willis, sons, Johnny Wayne and Dwane Willis, a sister, Wilma Martin and a brother, Jessie Austin.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Joe (Jo) Willis of Clinchco and a daughter, Janet (Richard) Barnes of MS, grandchildren, Amanda Hope Schiffer of Clintwood and Timothy Matthew Willis of Wise, 4 step-grandchildren, Randi Renee McCowan, Anthony Lee Honaker, Ashley Rochelle Honaker and Andrew Calvin Honaker, 2 great-grandchildren, Conner Joseph Sutherland and Liam Greyson Matthew Willis, 11 step great-grandchildren, a sister, Lucille (Richard) Green of Clinchco, a brother, Jimmy Austin of Corapeake, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rebecca Willis Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be Scott Rasnake, Andrew Honaker, Dean Deel, Matthew Willis, Floyd Osborne and Patrick Yates. The family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m. on Sunday prior to funeral service.
