Where I grew up on Lazarus Branch,,,Gawk's family were just up the creek from us,,,my extended family I guess you could say..When I was probably 5 or 6 years old,,Gawk or one of his brothers picked me up and sat me on Johns old white horse, I was just fine until the old horse slung his head back and was trying to bite my ankles..Ha..All those boys got a good laugh out of that,,,and yes it was funny..I also remember John and some of the boys hauling my moms first wringer washer up the creek with that same horse , and also John and the boys using that white horse to drag logs down to our house to help my dad build a bridge across the creek to our house..A very wonderful family and neighbors..I have many wonderful memories of all of them..God Bless
