SYLVIA BERNICE HILL
Haysi, VA- Sylvia Bernice Hill, age 56, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA. Born in Grundy, VA, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Ollie Mae Deel Raines. She was last employed as a seamstress for Donkenny Sewing Factory and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael David Hill, brothers, Ronnie and Larry Raines and a sister, Linda Edwards.
Survivors include a daughter, Bernice (Jason) Vance of Haysi and a son, Buford Wallace Hill III of TN, grandchildren, Ollie Jo Vance, Gracie Jay Vance, Andy Lynn Vance and Patience Nichole Hill, a brother, Donnie (Trish) Raines of Birchleaf, three sisters, Shirley (Gary) Owens of Birchleaf, Rita (Gary) Wilson of Council and Martha Deel of Haysi.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Garnell Gilbert and Elder Noah Kim Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in A.F. Deel Cemetery, Haysi, VA. The family will receive friends after 12:00 noon on Wednesday prior to funeral service.
