Haysi, VA – Randy Lee Bean, Jr., age 34, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at his residence. Born in North Carolina he was a son of Dewey and Tina Bean. He was a 2002 graduate of Haysi High School, last employed as a coal miner for Jewel Smokeless, and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Randy Lee Bean, Sr., and grandparents, Fred and Vinie Yates, Ruby Seachrist, and Lester Bean.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Cindy (Roger) Yates of Clintwood, VA, a nephew, Nathaniel Owens, uncles and aunts; Paul Bean, Dale (Robin) Bean, Buck (Janice) Yates, Luke Yates, Chris (Tammy) Yates, Irene (Ira) Gotte, Lois (Tom Dean) Wallace, Inie Gail (Andy) Turner, Rocky (Linda) O’quinn, and Joan Epling, and grandparents, Ray and Nancy Bowers.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Eddie Rose officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, at Yates Cemetery, Haysi. Pallbearers will be Wayne O’quinn, Wesley O’quinn, Dalton O’quinn, John Whitner, John Vance, Ron Tiller, Russell Stallard, and Bret Stallard. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Owens, Thumper Gotte, Benny Stallard, and Robbie Hay. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the funeral service.
