My Popaw

As a small child I loved going to Momaw and Popaws to spend the night.I would go with my little blue suitcase swinging by my side. Oh, how I loved walking down to the hog pen with Popaw to feed the hogs while he talked to me telling stories to get a giggle. And walking to his beautiful garden hoping to get a taste of raspberries or gooseberries from the vines. Porch sitting was always best there too..just feeling the breeze with him and hearing the birds sing. When morning came Popaw would wake me picking the banjo and stomping, dancing and singing and telling me breakfast was on the table. He'd always laugh about how I'd kick like a mule in bed as a little girl and he couldn't sleep with me climbing him like a ladder. We love him so much, and will miss him ...always
