R.J. Deel

Clinchco, VA – R.J. Deel, age 85 of Sutherland Ridge, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Quincy and Isabella Fuller Deel. He was a coal truck driver and last employed by United Coal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Deel, a brother, Granville Deel and a sister, Ruby Edwards.
Survivors include a daughter, Tanya (Tony) Sutherland of Clinchco, three sons; Robert Deel of Haysi, VA, Jarvis Deel of Clinchco, and Gregory (Bonnie) Deel of Morrison, TN, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Mike Stidham officiating. Burial will follow in the Will Edwards Cemetery, Clinchco. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 14 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
