RAY WILSON OWENS JR.
Vansant, VA- Ray Wilson Owens Jr., age 61, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018. Born in Vansant, VA he was a son of Ocie Mae Belcher Owens and the late Ray W. Owens. He was last employed by Excel mining where he ran a cutting machine. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Thomas.
In addition to his mother, survivors include sisters, Mabeline and Roger Stanley of Grundy, Dorothy Owens of Ten Mile, TN, Tiny and Eddie Stevens of Rosedale and Barbara and Jerry Coleman of Vansant and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Andy Deel, Mark Justice and Terry O’quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Pallbearers will be brothers-in-law and nephews.
