Davenport, VA – Larry Wayne Breeding, age 77 of Helen Henderson Highway passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Stella Rose Breeding. Wayne was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He loved hunting, fishing, and his family and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nephew and nieces, Freddie Joe and April Breeding and Loraine Thomas; brothers-in-law, Ellis Wayne Deel, Pierce Powers, James Thomas, Stanley Foor and Wilbert Rose and mother and father-in law, Virgie and Monroe Sykes.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Kathy Breeding; sisters, Wilma Deel and husband Willard of Damascus, VA, Nadene Walker and husband Dan of Stafford, VA, Lois Rose and husband Charles of Ruby, VA, Luella Bartee and husband John of Lebanon, VA, and Darlene Miller and husband Barry of Davenport, VA; brothers, William Breeding and wife Darlene, Fred Breeding and wife Pat, Mick Breeding and wife Alma and Rick Breeding and wife Audrey all of Davenport, VA and Raymond Breeding, Danie of Lebanon, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Delano Sykes; sister-in-law, Gay Powers; special niece, Elaina Baldwin and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Jim Duty officiating. Burial will follow in the Nathan Edwards Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Brothers and brothers-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
