NORMA JEAN STANLEY
Haysi, VA- Norma Jean Stanley, age 82, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at her home. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus C. and Carrie Hill Compton. She was the past owner and operator of Mountain Market for many years, where she enjoyed meeting and talking to her customers and was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clinard Stanley, two sons, David and Freddie Stanley, brothers, Paul and Ronnie and sisters, Lelia, Marline and Joyce.
Survivors include a son, Brian (Roberta) Stanley of Clinchco, a grandson, Justin (Alex Stiltner) Stanley of Haysi, a granddaughter, Amanda (Braulio) Morales of Kingsville, TX, great-granddaughters, Emma and Evelyn Morales, a daughter-in-law, Hilda Stanley of Corpus Christi, TX.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Luther Stanley, Ronald Stanley and Danny Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in F.L. Colley Cemetery, Haysi, VA, Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. The family will receive friends after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the church with funeral services to follow.
