JAMES A. "Buck" MCCLANAHAN JR.
Grundy, VA- James A. McClanahan Jr., age 71 of Black Smith Drive, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late James Arthur and Nora Alice Stiltner McClanahan. He was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda McClanahan and an infant brother.
Survivors include two sons, Jimbo (Tena) McClanahan of Grundy and Rick (Karen) McClanahan of Big Rock, two daughters, Jamia (Brian) Gibson of Grundy and Krissy (Benjie) Charles of Hurley, grandchildren, Shayna McClanahan, Cory McClanahan, Garrett Matney, Emma McClanahan, Rylea Charles, Colby McClanahan and Brady Gibson, sisters, Goldie Stiltner, Tiny Thomas, Lucy (Scott) Keene, Dixie Deel, Gerry (Conrad) Cochran and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. with Todd Elswick-New Hope Christian Churc h.
