Haysi,VA- Harold Deel, age 79 of Moody Road, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Barney and Viola Raines Deel. He was a coal miner and member of Bethlehem #1 Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Yates, Leona Thomas and Edie McFadden and brothers Johnny, Lafayette, Earl, Arville and Orbie Deel.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, a daughter, Dedra (Blaine) Crowse of Abindon, two sons, Edgar (Sharon) Deel and Charlie (Renee) Deel both of Haysi, 3 grandchildren, Amy Beth Crouse, Blain Allen Crouse II and Sarah Deel, a great grandson, Brody Crouse and a brother, Walter Allen Deel of Haysi.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jim Blankenship, David O’quinn, Jamie McClanahan, Buster Mullins and Austin Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in O’Quinn-Deel Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
