Condolence: Though I never knew Ernie, his very kind voice always seemed to me like he was a good friend, or neighbor to me! I loved his singing,and I'm glad he's rejoicing with the angels and now is singing around God's throne!

Condolence: Karen & family...I offer my sincere condolences with the loss of Ernie. He was one of my favorite singers.

Condolence: We've know Ernie since he started out with Ralph Stanley he was a great musician, Prayers to all the family, Sadly missed in Floyd county Ky.

Condolence: Ernie was such a great guy. He was one talented musician and singer. He is now singing in Heaven with the Angel Band. I thank God that Ernie got saved and baptized not long ago. I pray for the Lord to bless and comfort all of the family and friends.

Condolence: Hurt that we lost a GREAT SINGER The VOICE of BLUEGRASS MUSIC I was honored to have gotin the opportunity to to play some music and work with my great friend Ernie Thacker he was lots of fun and had a smile all the time I always enjoyed the stories of his years with Dr. Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys we have lost a wonderful soul and a wonderful person I am going to sure miss my great friend I send my thoughts and prayers to Karen and Mathew and all the Thacker Family.

The Hamilton family is grateful for all the bluegrass shows you did for us over the years here in Indiana, Ohio, and at the old home place in McDowell Kentucky. I think back to all the fun we had and I am sure going to miss you as well as all the Hamilton`s. You and your family are special people and my condolences to all. Condolence: Asking God to give each family member, comfort, peace and strength during this difficult time. Ernie was a true gentleman who loved God, his family and friends. He will be remembered as a guy who loved bluegrass music and it showed each time he stepped on the stage to play. I remember Ernie when he sang lead for the late Dr. Ralph Stanley. He has graced the stage with many well known bluegrass people and bands. He did an awesome job when he sang our National Anthem at the opening of a NASCAR race. Rest assured that Ernie has received his complete healing and is resting in the arms of Jesus. The heavens choir received a new member the day Ernie past. He is singing with his mom, dad, family and friends. I'm sure Dr. Ralph Stanley was there as well as others to welcome Ernie home. Condolence: Praying for you all .I know your heart is broken because God has taken your Daddy Home. I didn't know your dad well But I know our Forrest loved your DAD and thought Highly of him And that he was so good to our son .What better praise can be said of someone than he was kind and generous and so up-lifting to others No matter what he was going through.
I just know the music has to be sweeter in heaven now just because Ernie is there
