WILLIAM ELLIS OWENS
Haysi, VA- William Ellis Owens, age 88 of Dickenson Highway, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his home. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Henry Cleveland and Sarah Evaline O’quinn Owens. He served in the U.S. Army, was last employed as a coal truck driver and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annette, sisters, Dolly Belcher, Bertha Owens, Alta Bailey, Della O’quinn, Ethel Yates, Imel Fuller, Pinkie Deel and Maxie Hess and brothers, Jim and Barney Owens.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Clayton) O’quinn and Merilyn (Elder Buster) Mullins, two sons, Larry (Barbara) Owens and William (Mary) Owens all of Haysi, grandchildren, Deidre Deel, Chris Mullins, Mike Mullins, Tracy Yates, Candice Owens and Madison Owens, great- grandsons, Michael Ryan, Damon Vance, Will Yates and Dawson Deel, great-granddaughters, Brittany Fuller, Alexandria Yates Hannah, Katy, Kylie and Dakota and a great-great grandchild, Easton Fuller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Toby Bailey, David O’quinn, Jimmy Yates and Jim Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey-Owens Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
