Lisa Lynn Deel
New Castle, VA - Lisa Lynn Deel, age 40, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. Lisa was a former resident of Dickenson County and was raised in Birchleaf, VA. Lisa loved to sing and was very talented in whatever she put her mind to do. Most of all she was very proud of the young men her two boys have become. She was preceded in death by her two grandfathers, John Henry Owens and Warren Raines.
Lisa is survived by her loving parents, Gary and Shirley Owens of Birchleaf, two sons, Jerod Gregory Dwayne Deel and Brody Waylon Deel of New Castle, her husband and companion, Greg Deel of New Castle, a brother, Gary Wayne (Shannon) Owens, her niece, Leah Owens of Birchleaf, grandmothers, Ella Owens of Bee, VA and Ollie Raines of Birchleaf, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Joel Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the John Henry Owens Cemetery, Bee, VA. Pallbearers will be Wally Hill, Phillip Raines, Brian Deel, Jason Deel, Josh Raines, Tommy Raines, Mikey Owens, Matthew Owens, Johnathan Boyd, Tim Raines, Jamie Yates, and Jerry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Duke, Jason Vance, Darrell Owens, Cotton Owens, Donnie Raines, Ronnie Raines, and Jackie Owens. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1 at the funeral home where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Elder Jim O’quinn.
